CFF stands for Caesar Flash File, and it contains firmware data, software updates, etc for a specific ECU.
They are used in conjuction with the CBF diagnostic file standard.
SMR-D stands for Steuergerät Motor Reparatur-Flash (German)
They are used in conjuction with the SMR-D diagnostic file standard.
